Having established contact, the player can select a wide variety of topics, suggestions and activities. There is no physical navigation in the game instead, the player selects a character from a list and follows this character through various locations represented with still pre-rendered backgrounds. The player can then assume the role of either male or female character in attempt to build up a relationship with any of these characters. Once placed in the game world, these characters will follow their own routines, which depend on their preferences. The character editor allows customization of a cel-shaded 3D model with facial and body features, personality types, sexual orientation, likes and dislikes, etc. The player can populate this environment with up to twenty-five characters (male or female) of his or her own creation. The game is set in a school, which includes locations such as classrooms, yards, a tennis court, a gym, etc. Jinkō Gakuen is a simulation game similar in concept to Artificial Girl games, though with a noticeably more complex gameplay.
